I woke up this morning with an overlook of the city and the sun peaking over the hill. I wasn't ready to get up so as the sun warmed the room I cracked open the window to let in the cool morning air. The birds were chirping.
Work while the sun shines is a phrase not lost on these D.C. folk, the construction crew started on the baseball diamond below before the sun fully peaked over the hilltop.
I sat and watched the sun warm the city below me and wished I had a bite of the banana bread I left sitting on my counter at home.
Today will be a good day. The sun is shining, breakfast is easy and I'm in my nation's capitol about to put my tourist on. Yep, today will be a good day.
